Getting Started
Your website is ready. Now we point your domain name to it. Pick the way that's easiest for you.
● About 5 minutes · No tech experience neededQuick check before you start: Do you use email at this domain — an address like [email protected]? If you do and you plan to use Method 1 (nameservers), text or email us first. Changing nameservers moves your email settings too, and we'll copy them over so your email keeps working. Method 2 (records) doesn't touch your email.
Both work. Not sure which to pick? Go with the recommended one — it's the simplest.
Change two settings at the company where you bought your domain. Then we take care of everything else.
Your two nameservers
These are HoneyBun's two nameservers — the same for every site. Replace your current nameservers with these two, exactly as shown.
Sign in to GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, or wherever you bought your domain name.
Look for a section called Nameservers. It's usually under DNS, Domain Settings, or Manage Domain. Choose the option to use custom nameservers.
Delete the nameservers that are there now and enter the two we gave you (above). Copy each one exactly — no extra spaces.
Click Save. The change usually goes live in 5 to 30 minutes (rarely up to a few hours).
Once the nameservers are changed, let us know. We set up your website, secure it with SSL, and make it live automatically. Nothing else for you to do.

Prefer to keep your DNS where it is? Add two records that point to your new website's server.

Sign in to your registrar and find the section called DNS or DNS Settings for your domain.
Not sure where you bought it? Check your email for a receipt — the subject usually says "domain registration" or "domain purchase."
Find records that say A Record. Delete the ones named @ (or blank) and www. These are old addresses being replaced.
Only delete A records. Leave everything else alone — especially MX, TXT, and CNAME records. Those run your email and other services.
Add two new A Records using the table below. Copy the server address from the top of this section and paste it into the Value column for both rows.

Some registrars use @ for the root domain; others leave it blank. Both mean the same thing.
Click Save. Your domain now points to your new website. The internet takes a little time to catch up.
Most domains go live in 15 minutes to 2 hours (rarely up to 48). Once your site loads at your domain, tell us and we'll finish setup.
Want to check if it's working? Go to whatsmydns.net, type your domain, choose record type A, and search. When you see 45.55.153.250, you're live.
Enter your domain and we'll check that it's pointing to us, then finish the rest automatically — adding your domain to the server, securing it with SSL, and making it your live address. Works for both methods.
